Asser Youssef, MD
Dr. Asser Youssef was born in Egypt and received his medical degree from the Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria, Egypt. He is an established and highly skilled general surgeon who has worked for many years managing severely injured patients. This experience has provided him with unique surgical insight and perspective on treatment options which he shares with his patients. His exposure to the fast-paced world of trauma surgery have provided him with decision- making skills and the ability to be the voice of calm in high pressure situations. Dr. Youssef is a compassionate physician who provides each patient personalized attention as well as access to state-of-the-art surgical care. He can be trusted to get you well.
Dr. Youssef moved to the United States to pursue advanced training and practice in general surgery. He completed a General Surgical internship and residency at Harlem Hospital Center in New York. Subsequently, he completed fellowship training in Trauma Surgery at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland. Dr. Youssef is board certified and re-certified by the American College of Surgeons in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. With over 15 years of experience, he has a particular interest in the broad application of robotic surgery.
After fellowship, Dr. Youssef served as Surgery Faculty at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport, LA. There he applied his leadership skills to promote the growth of LSU’s robust trauma program. Dr. Youssef later joined the faculty at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Arizona where he was introduced to the da-Vinci Surgical System, a state-of-the art innovation allowing for minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgeries.
Dr. Youssef serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and he is directly involved in the education of medical students and residents. He currently holds professional memberships in a number of prestigious surgical organizations.
Dr. Youssef resides in Chandler, Arizona with his wife and 3 children and enjoys outdoor activities.

Courtney Birkett
Courtney Birkett was born in California and attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She then received her masters of medical sciences in physician assistant studies (MMSPAS) at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. She is a certified physician assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She has been working with Dr. Youssef since 2020. Courtney is passionate about the future of robotic surgery and its benefits for patients.
